Germany’s immigration society is ageing, which gives rise to new challenges and needs when it comes to care for the sick and elderly. Language skills, religious affiliation, cultural background and the sex of the care professional are central aspects. Research has not supplied much reliable data about what people with and without a migration background expect of care. To gain insight into some aspects, the Policy Brief presents data of the SVR Integration Barometer on care preferences and provides recommendations for access to advisory and more culturally sensitive care services.
