Zhao Lei

Zhao Lei is a reporter at China Daily. He reports on the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) external relations, its organization and personnel issues, as well as military and defense industry news, China’s aerospace activities, and transportation news. Zhao Lei has covered a host of eye-catching events, such as the sea trials and commissioning of China‘s first aircraft carrier, test flights of fifthgeneration fighter jets, Xi Jinping’s first inspection tour to Guangdong, as well as the Chinese Navy’s patrol missions to the South China Sea and the Western Pacific Ocean. Prior to working for China Daily, Zhao Lei was an editor at the International Department at China Radio International for more than three years. He assisted in sorting news and planning coverage, edited stories and produced audio materials as well as radio programs.
