The potential of labor migration for economic and social development

Short biography

Vinzenz Himmighofen studied Islamic Studies and Political Science in Mainz, Heidelberg and London, where he obtained a M.Sc. in Middle East Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). After high school, he worked as a civic servant in a school for deaf and deaf-blind children in Jordan. Vinzenz gained further professional experience with the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation in Cairo and the policy planning unit of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. As a Mercator Fellow, he will work on the potential of international labor migration for development cooperation.
