Ricarda Nater-Mewes is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Ricarda Nater-Mewes is a psychologist who is working on immigrant and refugee health issues and cross-cultural comparisons in the Faculty of Psychology at Philipps-Universität Marburg. Through her research she seeks to enhance understanding of factors that influence the health of ethnic minority groups so as to improve it and avoid communication difficulties. She recently finished a study funded by the European Refugee Fund about the mental health of newly arrived asylum seekers. Her research, public speaking and teaching aim to inform and sensitize the public and future stakeholders about the situation of ethnic minorities and the harmful effects of stigmatization, and to propose strategies for improving prevention and treatment. Ms Nater-Mewes completed her PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) at the Philipps-Universität Marburg and the University of Duisburg-Essen (Dr. rer. medic.).
