Project description

Nereo Peñalver is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Nereo Peñalver is policy advisor at the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee where he is responsible for Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Israel and the Palestinian Territories. He is also visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges, and has lectured on European Union politics and international relations in several top European universities. He has worked for front-rank European politicians like Martin Schulz and Josep Borrell, as well as senior officials in Brussels, the European Parliamentary Research Service and the EU Delegation to Tunisia. Mr Peñalver co-authored the book The Making of a European President about the first pan-European presidential campaign. He holds a masters degree from the College of Europe and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and also studied political science at Sciences Po Toulouse and Peking University.
