Project title

The Right to Education as a Challenge for the German Social and Education System

Project description

During his Fellowship, Michael Wrase is studying the system of early education and schooling in Germany, focusing on non-discrimination and the sociocultural subsistence level. His goal is to reveal deficits in education law and thus to illustrate ways of achieving systemic changes for the sake of greater educational equality.

Short biography

Michael Wrase specializes in constitutional law, education and social law, the sociology and theory of law, antidiscrimination law and institutional questions of knowledge production. He obtained his PhD at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and since January 2013 has been a research associate at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). Michael Wrase is involved in various project and research groups which engage on an interdisciplinary level with questions relating to the sociology of law and education studies, and has extensive experience in political consulting.
