Maja is managing the flagship program of THE CIVICS – Mapping Civic Education in 21 countries in Europe. Prior to THE CIVICS, Maja worked in public sector consulting in her home country Croatia on projects like the evaluation of the European Capital of Culture. Her formal working experience is complemented with eight years of active involvement across the non-governmental sector and academia. She’s carried out research and co-authored articles examining return migration, brain drain & policy making in Croatia. Maja holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Central European University in Budapest and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Zagreb. During her studies, she took part in academic and cultural exchanges in the USA and Poland. She is actively involved in european networks such as European Forum Alpbach and the UN Academy.
