Laura Gerards Iglesias

As a Mercator Fellow, Laura Gerards Iglesias develops a bottom-up strategy for the inclusion of local women’s groups in peace processes. She regards the role of third actors as crucial for implementing SC Resolution 1325 and improving local agency of women. For that, Laura builds on her experience as a founder of a digital start-up aiming at building trust and resilience in teams and as a facilitator for self-empowerment for girls and women in Colombia and Germany. Moreover, Laura has specialised in the field of inclusive peace processes during her Masters in International Affairs at the Hertie School in Berlin and the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
