Short biography

Kaan Sahin studied political science at the University of Duisburg-Essen as well as international politics and peace research at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, the University of Connecticut and Koç University in Istanbul. He gained professional experience at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations, the Federal Academy of Security Policy and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in the area of security sector reform. As a Mercator Fellow, he will explore civil and military strategies to fight hybrid threats.
