Fleeing vs. Lockdown: Sustainable Approaches to Climate-induced Migration, Relocation and Displacement in the Time of COVID-19

Short biography

As a Mercator Fellow, Hoang Tran Hieu Hanh is exploring sustainable approaches to climate-induced migration, displacement and relocation in the time of COVID-19. Hanh has hands-on experiences from working with community-based organisations (Rohingya, stateless Vietnamese) as well as with UNHCR Malaysia, the German Embassy in Cambodia and the Migration Council Berlin. She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations (Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Potsdam) with a focus on statelessness, intersectionality and anti-racism. Hanh has spent the past year working at the Prevention and Disaster Risk Management unit of the European Commission.
