Hanna Baumann (25) from Berlin studied Middle Eastern History and Art History in New York and Kairo. After her bachelor’s degree she worked in the field of humanitarian aid and human rights in the Middle East and completed a master’s degree in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies in Oxford. During her Mercator Fellowship she conducted research on the supersession of social and ethnic minorities caused by developing tourism in cities of the Eastern Mediterranean region. Hanna Baumann now completes her Ph.D. as a Gates Scholar at the University Cambridge.
