Cemre Artan Koç is an Expert on EU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Directorate for EU Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. She is currently working at the Department for Political Affairs and is responsible for monitoring and coordinating activities carried out by public institutions towards aligning the Turkish legislation with EU acquis in the field of fundamental rights. As an Expert on EU Affairs, she is following and contributing the developments in Turkey and the EU regarding Political Criteria, Chapter 23-Judiciary and Fundamental Rights. Her main focus areas are fundamental rights, human rights institutionalization in Turkey, personal data protection, minority rights, and anti-discrimination. Cemre holds a BS in Economics and an MSc in Sociology. Cemre has also worked at the European Commission Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO – currently renamed as DG for International Partnership) as a National Expert.
