Carolina Drüten is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.
Carolina Drüten is a foreign correspondent for WELT, based in Istanbul. She reports on Turkey and Southeast Europe, with additional field work in Syria, Afghanistan and Moldova. In her role, she focuses on foreign and security policy. Her assignments have taken her to NATO exercises, migration routes, refugee camps, presidential palaces, remote villages and military airfields. She writes reports, analyses and interviews, and regularly appears on German television. She holds a Master’s degree from the Erasmus Mundus program “Journalism, Media and Globalization,” which she completed at Aarhus University, Denmark, and City University of London, UK. Whenever deadlines allow, she enjoys reading books and running along the Bosphorus or the Rhine.
