Fostering heritage languages for social cohesion

Short biography

Anna Cijevschi deals with the question how inclusion can be fostered through the promotion of heritage languages. After obtaining her degree in Multilingualism and Regionalism (M.A.) from the University of Regensburg, she worked at a secondary school teaching English and Geography. She has also worked in global development education at NETZ Partnership for Development and Justice. As a Mercator Fellow, she wants to experience different language programmes aimed at speakers of minority and heritage languages in order to identify and share successful practices which help reduce inequalities and strengthen social cohesion.
