Trump’s ascendancy to power has fuelled debates on the global rise of populism. The populist upsurge had already gained prominence worldwide. It also significantly strengthens the claim that populism is no longer a regional but a global phenomenon that needs to be studied through comparative terms in a global context. Prof. E.
