Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs

Each year, the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs promotes 24 highly-committed German-speaking university graduates from all disciplines and young professionals who aspire to positions of responsibility in the world of tomorrow. Fellows receive a monthly stipend. In addition, funding is available for stays abroad, conference participation and language courses.

This is a project of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and Stiftung Mercator in cooperation with Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, and of the Swiss Study Foundation and Stiftung Mercator Schweiz in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

Global Diplomacy Lab

The Global Diplomacy Lab (GDL) is a platform that allows diplomats and experts from non-governmental organizations to share thoughts and ideas with people working in business, cultural institutions and foundations. At the Global Diplomacy Lab, they look for new and more inclusive approaches to diplomacy and together develop courses of action that extend beyond the realm of conventional politics.

Stiftung Mercator’s new “Mercatora” seminar programme helps alumnae consciously engage with the structures of the “glass ceiling”, learn action strategies and share ideas and experience with other Mercator alumnae and experienced experts from the Stiftung Mercator network.

Mercator Alumni Fund

Stiftung Mercator uses the Mercator Alumni Fund to support events, specialist seminars, workshops and project ideas by and for Mercator fellows and alumni. The goal is to foster an expert exchange on the foundation’s themes, to support inter-programme networking and to promote the ideas and initiatives of Stiftung Mercator fellows and alumni.

Turkey Europe Future Forum

The Turkey Europe Future Forum promotes cross-cultural interaction and cooperation among young leaders. It gives high potentials from Turkey, Germany and other European countries the opportunity to broaden their horizons and pursue innovative solutions relating to their ideas about the future of Europe.

Mercator Exchange combines the international exchange programmes run by Stiftung Mercator for schools, young people and multipliers. Under the Mercator Exchange umbrella, these programmes are expanded, refined and further developed. Mercator Exchange is Stiftung Mercator’s way of investing in the exchange of people and ideas between China, Turkey and Europe.
