As a Mercator Fellow, Sina Marleen Golgowski explores international peace operations mandated to use all necessary means to protect civilians. She is interested in investigating to which extent these robust peace operations can contribute to creating sustainable peace. Sina gained international work experience at, for instance, the Council of the European Union in Brussels, the United Nations (UN) in New York and the UN Human Rights Office in Cambodia. She holds a PhD in Political Science from TU Dortmund University. In her doctoral thesis, Sina examined external democracy promotion in the context of a peace operation.
