Project description

Marijn Speth is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Marijn Speth currently works as the First Secretary for Political Affairs at the Embassy
 of The Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ankara. He covers asylum and migration issues, human rights, and political affairs in general. Before coming to Turkey, Marijn worked in Brussels for the Permanent Representation to the EU, where he was part of migration team of Dutch Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2016, and represented The Netherlands in different Council working parties, including on EU relations with the Middle East, and Latin America. Mr Speth joined the European Commission’s DG for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations as a trainee, and worked for the United States House of Representatives through the Lantos/Humanity in Action Congressional Fellowship in 2014. He studied political history at Utrecht University in The Netherlands.
