Possibilities of conflict sensitive water supply in sub-Saharan Africa

Short biography

Julia Ismar holds a BA in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Passau and an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has worked with UN Institutions, political foundations and think tanks in Germany, Israel, Lebanon and Argentina. Before being awarded the Mercator Fellowship, Julia worked in South Sudan, where she carried out research on the governance of the water sector. As part of the fellowship programme, Julia will work on initiatives for equitable and just water governance in Easten Africa, with a special focus on Sudan.
