Julia Harrer studied international journalism, media/communication and French at Trier University and Hamline University in St. Paul (USA). Afterwards, she graduated with a master’s degree in European and International Economics and Politics in Halle/Saale (Germany) and Milan (Italy). She made her first working experiences with the German Public Broadcasting as a freelance journalist, Radio France, the German Consulate General in Naples (Italy), the German Foreign Office and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. During her fellowship she will work on disaster risk reduction and approaches to strengthen resilience in developing countries.
