Short biography

Fikri Anıl Altıntaş works as a project manager for the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe in Berlin. He holds a Master’s degree in Eastern European Studies from the Free University Berlin, following his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Eberhard-Karls University in Tübingen. During his studies, he spent time in Istanbul and did research trips to Kosovo and Serbia. He previously worked at the Berlin-based national federation Networks of Migrant Organization (BV NeMO) as well as the Tibet Initiative Germany. Fikri Anıl has published journalistic articles in German media outlets, writing on masculinities and orientalism. He serves as the #HeForShe Catalyst of UN Women Germany, engaging men for support of gender equality. His research interests are the political representation of migrant communities, Muslim-Turkish Identities, (critical) masculinities, European Neighborhood Policy, and South- Eastern Europe, with a focus on Kosovo and Albania.
