Dilek Yücel completed her Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the Vienna University of Technology. She is also a PRINCE2 certified project manager and gender & diversity trainer. Dilek is an alumna of the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship Programme, where she received training in ‘Innovative Entrepreneurship and Social Sciences’ at Cambridge University.
During her time as a career changer in the teaching profession at a public secondary school in Vienna, she was honoured with the ‘Fairness Award’ from the Austrian Ministry of Education for Women and Education and with the ‘Extraordinary Appreciation’ from the Vienna Education Directorate for her project ‘Inclusion 3.0’.
She then worked in Istanbul as a project manager at the English-language broadcaster TRT WORLD, where she was in charge of the first TRT WORLD FORUM and the first TRT WORLD FELLOWSHIP, among other things. Following this, she worked in the Turkish parliament as a first advisor to a member of parliament in the area of ‘Turkish diaspora in Europe’.
Subsequently, Dilek Yücel worked as a Senior Research Associate at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, where she is pursuing a PhD in Political Science and International Relations. Her academic interests include Politics of Memory, Othering and Transnationalism.
Dilek Yücel is currently working at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in the Office of the Rectorate in the Appointments & Project Steering Office.
