Project title

Resilience and defence strategies against disinformation and manipulation of public opinion in pluralistic democracies

Short biography

During his fellowship year, Daniel Weimert aims at developing resilience and defence strategies against manipulative disinformation campaigns initiated by state actors. He has gained professional experience concerning the intersection of international politics and digital media during his work at the German Federal Ministry of Defence, the U.S. Embassy Berlin, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, and at PR agencies. As co-head of the transatlantic department of the think tank Polis180, Daniel published policy briefs and organized workshops and creative discussion formats. He obtained his master’s degree in Strategic Communications in Berlin and Paris and his bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications in Berlin and San Diego.
