Sustainable education projects? Developing a “social business” model for teacher training

Short biography

Caroline Nehls, born 1987, studied Romance Studies and Educational Science (M.A.) in Germany and Spain. She conducted studies on teacher education for the Basic Education Programme at GIZ Malawi and for the Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development at UNESCO Bangkok. While completing her M.A., she founded the student association Weitblick Freiburg promoting educational projects in Germany and overseas. As a Mercator fellow, she will focus on how to use the potential of social business models for educational projects in developing countries.
