Dual citizenship and other modes of gaining legal access to the transnational German-Turkish sphere

Project description

The aim of her project is to investigate the differences in the way dual German-Turkish citizenship and multiple memberships are granted to German citizens of Turkish origin and Turkish citizens of non-Turkish origin in Turkey.

Short biography

Barbara Pusch studied sociology, Turkology, philosophy and ethnology at the University of Vienna. She began her academic career with a master’s thesis focusing on Turkish girls in Vienna. Barbara received her PhD from the University of Vienna and then went on to complete various post-doctoral projects on women and Islam in Turkey. Her research is now concentrated mainly on migration studies, and she has been involved in several international work groups and projects concerned with migration to and through Turkey.
