Project title

Waste materials are resources. How can social, economical and political factors be combined in order to implement sustainable material cycles?

Short biography

Andrea Wehrli studied Environmental Sciences at ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and SLU (Sweden). She gained professional experience at Swiss Recycling, the umbrella organisation of recycling systems in Switzerland, before joining the World Economy Forum as Waste and Recycling Specialist to improve the waste management system at the Annual Meeting 2017 in Davos. Furthermore, she co-founded the company Chez Mamie Helvetia GmbH, a zero waste retail store in Zurich. As a Mercator Fellow, she will explore impeding and supportive factors that are critical for the implementation of a sustainable waste management and circular economy scheme.
