As Mercator Fellow Aline Wani is working on mobilizing transdisciplinary methods for aesthetic and political practices of violence prevention and memorialization. The goal of her project is the theoretical elaboration and practical creation of a virtual and immersive memorial for victims of enforced disappearance in Mexico. She gained professional working experiences at UNODC, the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), as well as the Center for Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP IHEID) among others. Aline completed a Master’s degree in Development Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute with a focus on Peace, Conflict and Security Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs at the University of St. Gallen.
