Project description

Carolina Drüten is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Carolina Drüten is a journalist writing for the German daily national newspaper WELT in Berlin. Her reporting mainly focuses on Turkey, Turkish-German and Turkish-European relations. Prior to her current role, she was a policy advisor to a Member of the European Parliament in Brussels. Her work was concentrated on European regional development as well as social media strategizing. Carolina is an ambassador for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with the aim to increase student mobility in Germany. She holds a Master’s degree from the Erasmus Mundus program “Journalism, Media and Globalization“ which she completed at Aarhus University, Denmark, and University of London, UK. During the course of her studies, she also spent one semester at Istanbul Bilgi University in Turkey which first sparked her interest in the country.
