Project description

Ilias Tsgakas is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Ilias Tsagkas is a freelance renewable energy correspondent and business consultant working in the sector for about seven years. Turkey is one of the markets he focuses on and that he is most experienced in. Moreover, he is now writing up his PhD thesis examining the UK’s electricity governance and market, at the University of Greenwich in London. His academic research interests concern the topic of policy change and the dynamics of interest representation in the policy-making process, with a focus on energy and sustainability. He has studied both public policy and engineering, graduating from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland with a Masters in European Public Policy and a Masters in Energy Systems and the Environment. Mr Tsagkas currently lives in London.
