Henning Huenteler is part of a network of young German and Chinese leaders from all sectors who come together to engage in intensive dialogue and to undergo further professional and intercultural training. The Zukunftsbrücke – Chinese-German Young Professional Campus takes place in alternate years in China and Germany.
Henning Huenteler is the CEO of the Beijing Branch of the German carbon project developer Umwelt-Projekt-Management GmbH (UPM). Henning’s main areas of expertise are the international carbon markets as well as carbon reduction standards. Henning is a member of the Roster of Methodology Experts of the UNFCCC and has been working as an external project assessor for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). During the work for UPM, Henning has developed the first registered household biogas Programme of Activities that will distribute a targeted number of 1,000,000 household biogas digesters to rural households in Sichuan Province, China. Under his leadership, the company has developed a portfolio of 25 projects in China and Pakistan, with a total emission reduction of 25 million tons of CO2. Henning holds a master’s degree in nuclear physics and information technology from the University of Muenster and completed a one-year studying course at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
