Project description

Eylem Polat is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Eylem Polat is Head of Section in the Department for EU Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Turkey. The focal points of her work is Turkey-EU political relations and the EU’s neighbourhood policy. She was Third Secretary in the Department of Bilateral Cultural Relations of the MFA between 2005-2007. She was Third/Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Chisinau/Moldova in 2007-2009. In the Embassy she was responsible for both consular and political relations between Turkey and Moldova. Then, she started to work at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Helsinki/Finland in 2009. In 2012 she returned back to the MFA in Ankara. Eylem holds a M.A. in the field of European Communities and International Relations from the University of Ankara.
