Project description

Kıvanç Özcan is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Kıvanç Özcan is a PhD candidate in the Department of International Relations at the Middle East Technical University. Until June 2015 he was Chief Advisor in the office of CHP Deputy and former vice chairperson, Faruk Loğoğlu, in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. His main focus areas are Turkish Foreign Policy, Middle East Politics and social movements. In his previous position, Kıvanç worked as an assistant to the political analyst in the OSCE Election Assessment Mission for the 2011 General Elections in Turkey. He was awarded the Fulbright scholarship for his graduate study and received his M.A. from the Middle East Studies Program at George Washington University where he focused on Turkish Foreign Policy and social movements in the Middle East. Before that, he studied Sociology in Ankara at the Middle East Technical University. Currently, Kıvanç is a PhD candidate in the Department of International Relations at the Middle East Technical University.
