Project description

Gizem Karslı is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Gizem Karslı currently works for the International Labour Organisation as the National Employment Officer for ILO’s Refugee Response Programme in Turkey. She has completed her graduate studies on Social Policy at Middle East Technical University. She has worked in the Turkish Parliament as a parliamentary advisor for 3 years responsible for preparing draft bills and research proposal, following committee meetings and monitor governmental activities especially on issues related to refugee and migration polices and women rights. Ms. Karslı continued her career in the field of humanitarian aid development. She has worked for Save the Children Turkey Office as External Relations Coordinator representing the organization towards governmental and non-governmental entities and overseeing the advocacy work. She continued her career in United Nations first at World Food Programme as Government Partnerships Officer and in International Labour Organisation.
