Project description

Auveen Woods is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Auveen Woods is a Research Associate at the Conflict Resolution and Mediation stream of the Istanbul Policy Center. Before that she was a Development Officer for the Center for Civil Society and Democracy (CCSD). She is also the co-founder of Yusra Community Center, an NGO based in Balat in Istanbul that works to support Syrian children’s integration into the Turkish education system. Her work focuses on peacebuilding from the international to the local level. She has been engaged with a number of international and local civil society organizations working to develop peacebuilding projects among displaced and refugee communities in Somalia, Turkey and Syria. She has published a number of articles and reports on these issues. She received her MA in conflict analysis and resolution from Sabancı University and holds a BA in international relations from Dublin City University.
