Louisa Slavkova is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.
Louisa Slavkova is programme manager at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), where she assists senior management in shaping the ECFR’s geographical programmes. Ms Slavkova regularly contributes to ECFR series, ‘Views from the Capitals’, writing about Bulgaria as well as on the European neighbourhood policy and energy security. She is also a founding board member and director of Sofia Platform, a democracy promotion organization active in Eastern Europe and Europe’s Southern and Eastern Neighbourhoods. She worked as a political advisor to the Bulgarian Interim Minister for Environment (2013) and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nickolay Mladenov (2011-2013). She has also worked for the German Federal Agency for Civic Education (BPB) and continues to take part in its MENA region focus groups. Ms Slavkova is a PhD candidate who is studying the intersection between democracy promotion and foreign policy, which is of particular concern to her.
