Project description

Kathrin Otte is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Kathrin Otte is a legal advisor at the German Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) where she works on how to counter terrorism and violent extremism and various aspects of migration, and their impact societies. Previously she worked in the BMI’s Integration Division, where she focused on integration policies and questions regarding social cohesion, and the Federal Office for Refugees and Migration, where she was in charge of implementing and coordinating integration measures and asylum procedures. She also worked for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Criminal Court, an Italian law firm, and was a research assistant in civil law, international and European law at the Leibniz Universität Hannover. Ms Otte obtained her law degree from the Hannover and Rome universities.
