Migration and Refugee Policies within the Framework of EU-Turkey Relations

Project description

Anke Schuster is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Anke Schuster works as a policy officer for the Turkey unit of the European Commission Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) in Brussels. She is responsible for migration and home affairs and helps to monitor implementation of the recent EU-Turkey Joint Action Plan and the progression of the visa liberalization roadmap. Ms Schuster also deals with relevant funding instruments such as the Facility for Refugees in Turkey, the EU Regional Trust Fund for Syria (in Turkey) and the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA). Her recent assignments have included positions as project manager for labour migration and liaison officer for the Western Balkans and Turkey at the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Ms Schuster read European studies at the University of Aberdeen and the College of Europe, Natolin and business administration at the Open University, UK.
