Project description

David Hermann is part of a network of young German and Chinese leaders from all sectors who come together to engage in intensive dialogue and to undergo further professional and intercultural training. The Zukunftsbrücke – Chinese-German Young Professional Campus takes place in alternate years in China and Germany.

Short biography

David Hermann serves as Deputy Director in the Private Office of the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels. Until August 2016, he was assigned to the Political Section of the German Embassy Tokyo, where he covered Japanese domestic political developments and the regional situation in East Asia, including China-Japan relations. A career foreign service officer, previous postings included the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy unit and the USA desk in the Political Directorate-General of the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. Before joining the service, David worked as a consultant in Boston and Washington, DC. He studied law at Heidelberg, Hamburg and Charlottesville and holds an M.A. in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
