Project description

Johannes Braun is part of a network of young German and Chinese leaders from all sectors who come together to engage in intensive dialogue and to undergo further professional and intercultural training. The Zukunftsbrücke – Chinese-German Young Professional Campus takes place in alternate years in China and Germany.

Short biography

Johannes Braun is the Portfolio Manager at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Beijing with an expertise in the management of project-based international cooperation, international relations and development policy. GIZ is a federal enterprise that supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and operates in 130 countries. GIZ currently implements 40 cooperation projects with Chinese partners mainly on behalf of the German Federal Government and the EU. Johannes advises the resident country director on strategy and portfolio development. He joined GIZ as a participant of its graduate fast-track programme with postings to technical cooperation projects in China, the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the World Bank. Johannes holds an MA in Political Science, Public Law and Economics from the University of Regensburg and an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics.
