Yunus Akbaba is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Yunus Akbaba works as a political advisor for the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Binali Yıldırım, and is responsible for preparing his daily policy briefs. He is concerned with Turkish domestic politics, especially the Kurdish issue, political identities, security and contemporary political developments. Mr Akbaba worked at the Turkish think tank SETA for three years as a researcher in the Domestic Policy Department. He conducted research in several areas, including the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), the Kurdish issue and peace process, political identities, and ethnic and sectarian minorities. He also researched and analysed contemporary and historical political developments for research reports, policy papers and books. After studying at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Mr Akbaba graduated with an MA in cultural studies from Istanbul Bilgi University.
