As part of the Mercator Fellowship, Yasmin Zein focuses on creating the conditions for international companies to re-engage economically in Syria. She examines how strategic partnerships between the private sector and international donors can foster meaningful investment and sustainable opportunities for the country’s recovery.
Yasmin gained professional experience working on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs at the Association of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK), at the Federal Press Office, at Amnesty International, and in the private sector in both Germany and Australia. She holds an M.A. in International Politics and Human Rights from City, University of London, studied abroad at California State University Long Beach, and earned a B.A. in Socioeconomics from Friedrich-Alexander-University in Nuremberg.
