Paradigm shift in Turkish diaspora policy

Project description

What are the ideological parameters and the political and economic interests of Turkish diaspora politics? How much are Turkish organizations in Germany actually affected by Turkish diaspora politics?

Short biography

Yasar Aydin is a lecturer at HafenCity University Hamburg and at the Protestant Centre for Development and Social Service. After graduating, Yasar worked as a researcher at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research (HIS) and as a lecturer at the University of Hamburg. In 2009 he completed his doctorate in Hamburg entitled “Topoi of the stranger: An analysis and critic of a social construction”. From 2009 to 2012 he worked as a researcher at the Hamburg Institute of International Economics on the topic of “migration of highly educated people of Turkish origin from Germany to Turkey”.
