Project description

Dahrendorf senior fellows advise the symposium speakers and participants, mentor the postdoctoral fellows individually or as a group, and serve as a point of contact for project managers. They also promote the project’s science-policy interface.

Short biography

Wolfgang Ischinger has been chairman of the Munich Security Conference since 2008. He also serves as global head of government relations at Allianz SE, Munich and as adjunct professor in the Political Science Department at the University of Tübingen. From 2006 to 2008, he was Germany’s ambassador to London. Prior to this assignment, Wolfgang was the German ambassador to the United States of America from 2001 to 2006, and from 1998 to 2001 deputy foreign minister. Wolfgang studied law at the universities of Bonn and Geneva and obtained his law degree in 1972.
