Project description

Wolfgang Aigner is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Wolfgang Aigner is an official of the United Nations based in Vienna. His current assignment with the UN is to position the fight against transnational organized crime in the intergovernmental and multilateral fora by reaching out to governments, parliaments and the private sector. Previously, he served the German Government in multiple functions in security, foreign and economic policy and led negotiations for large-scale infrastructure projects, connecting gas fields in Russia and Azerbaijan with the consumer markets in the European Union. In his personal capacity, he is a staunch supporter of European integration, believes in political liberalism and contributes with his ideas to the foreign and European policy debate within the Free Democratic Party (FDP) of Germany. Wolfgang holds two master’s degrees from the University of Passau – one in Economics and one in International Relations.
