Project description

Turhan Kaya is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Turhan Kaya is Counsellor at the Turkish Embassy in Berlin. He mainly focuses on German domestic politics, think tanks and media. In his previous position he was Acting Head of Department for West Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara, where he was responsible for bilateral relations with African countries within the wider context of Turkey’s opening policy towards Africa and had the opportunity to make several field trips to crisis regions, including the Central African Republic. Before, Turhan served as First Secretary at the Turkish Embassy in Beijing, focusing on Turkish-Chinese relations and extensively traveling around the country. Apart from his professional skills, he is particularly interested in global economic issues. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Bilgi University in Istanbul, and continued his MA studies in International Economics at Göttingen University.
