Political primacy or military necessity: The planning of multilateral military action

Short biography

Tim Rauschan, born 1985 in Trier, studied International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies in Berlin and at the University of California Berkeley. He gained professional experience working for a member of the defense committee in the German Bundestag. He obtained a Dual Degree with a Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and a Master of International Affairs/Security Policy at the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University. There, he also worked for the State Department and USAID on Afghanistan. During his fellowship year, he will tackle questions of political and military planning of multilateral military operations.
