Svantje Meer is part of a network of young Turkish and European leaders from all sectors who come together once a year to engage in intensive dialogue and to share views and ideas about topical social issues. The Turkey Europe Future Forum takes place alternately in Turkey and Germany, as well as in other European countries.

Short biography

Svantje Meer works as a political scientist at the Berlin Police Department, where she analyzes the impact of international conflicts on the city of Berlin. The goal of her work is to proactively address spillover effects from foreign conflicts and to enhance the quality of police work through scientific analysis.

The local consequences of global and regional political developments include not only political extremism but also hybrid threats to public security. Svantje also works with victims of transnational repression to protect their fundamental rights while in exile.

As a mediator, Svantje facilitates resolution of workplace conflicts within her agency. She also advises Verdi union members affected by conflicts.
