Short biography

Sophie-Charlotte Fischer is currently writing her PhD at the intersection of technology development, security policy and political economy at the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich. She is also a research affiliate with the Center for the Governance of AI at the University of Oxford. Previously, she worked with the Asia-Pacific Office of the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs and NATO Defense College and gained further work experience with the German Federal Foreign Office and the German Institute for Human Rights. Sophie holds an MA in International Security Studies from Sciences Po Paris and a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Maastricht. She regularly speaks at international conferences and comments in the press on the implications of technological trends for foreign and security policy.
