Project title

Protecting human rights by fighting corruption and organized crime: The role of global cross-sector cooperation

Short biography

Simon Gewölb studied Development Economics & Public Policy as part of UC Berkeley’s Master of Development Practice (MDP) Program. He focuses on topics related to Good Governance, Human Rights and Impact Evaluation. During and after his graduate studies, he worked for international organizations and companies in his field of expertise, among them Global Financial Integrity (GFI) in Washington DC, Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) in San Francisco and Amnesty International at UC Berkeley’s Human Rights Center. As a Mercator Fellow, he will explore multi-sector approaches to fight corruption and organized crime as part of a broader strategy to protect human rights and to contribute to sustainable development efforts.
