Through the fellowship, Sebastian aims to deepen his understanding of how seed system dynamics evolve in fragile contexts. He is interested in collaborations among farmers, value-chain actors, humanitarian organizations, and policymakers that enhance seed security and food system resilience.
Starting his professional path in farming, Sebastian holds an MSc in Plant Sciences with a specialization in plant genetics and seed systems. He has worked with organizations engaged in plant breeding and agrobiodiversity research across Europe and Central Asia, served as a coordinating expert for the EU CAP Network, and advises farmers’ organizations on legal and policy aspects related to seeds.
